3 At Home Date Night Ideas

Us chillin’ on the couch

So, DeVaughn and I are home bodies. The older we get, the more we enjoy being at home. For my husband, after a long work week of fighting the rat race, his home is his comfort. For me, after doing ALL that I do all day, I like to enjoy a bit of alone time in my clean comfy home. Night after night we tend to become complacent and start to get into a week night routine. Before you know it, the weekend is here, then starts a new week. A date night is definitely the remedy to beat the complacency. But, the budget is done for the month and we didn’t include paying for a babysitter, gas, dinner and drinks and because we’re buying a house soon, our budget is down to the dollar. What to do? Simple! boo-up with your man at home!

So pick a night, get the kids fed and to bed on time, and get ready to gaze into your love’s eyes in the comfort of your own home.

Idea 1 – Easy Peasy

Dinner and a movie. Keep it simple and comfy. Sometimes just making time for each other is what’s needed. Prepare your favorite appetizer, meal or dessert. For brownie points, do it together! Break out the Amazon Fire Stick and choose a movie together. Be sure you’re both at least interested in the flick so no one gets bored and falls asleep lol. Trust me on this one.

Idea 2 – Oh You Fancy Huh?

Who has that sexy little black dress in your closet that you haven’t worn yet? I know I do. Why not break it in boo?! Invite your hubs to dress up, enjoy drinks, sushi or a nice meal; candles and crystal wine glasses included. Music, talking, laughing and why not dancing? Yup, all while at HOME.

The first time DeVaughn and I did this was absolute perfection. We ordered Chinese food from our favorite restaurant and had cocktails ready for us. I wore a sexy LBD, heels, hair and makeup, DONE! He was handsome with his fresh haircut in his slacks and button down. I remember walking into the living room and blushing after seeing the look on his face. We couldn’t keep our hands off each other the entire night. It’s funny because I remember it like it was yesterday. This is my favorite at home date by the way 😉

Idea 3 – Outdoor Lovin’

Take your date night outdoors! Enjoy your favorite drink in your backyard, front porch or balcony. Take this time to light up the firepit. No firepit? No worries. Grab a few candles instead and get a sexy ambiance going. Grab blankets and snuggle up next to your honey. Now would be a good time to ask for that needed foot rub while you tell each other what you love so much about them.

There you have it! 3 ideas to have an intimate at home date night with your boo. Try them out and let me know how it goes! Hey if you have additional  at home date night ideas, drop them in the comments below so we can try them 😉

It’s so funny that you posted this. My hubby and I was just talking how we were becoming old and boring lately. Lately, we been making more of an effort for each other, trying new things and redoing old things. It’s been so fun and we definitely are both happier. That’s why communication is soooo important in marriage. Great post sister💕
